More Than Just a Pet, He’s Family

Meet Sparky, the spirited Cockapoo who sits at the very heart of our story. Having just celebrated his first birthday on 21 May, Sparky is much more than a companion; he is a bridge. In our home, Sparky has played a transformative role in the lives of our children, who are on the autism spectrum. His intuitive nature, boundless energy, and calming presence have provided a unique form of support that only a “mate” like him could offer. It was through watching this incredible bond grow that we realised our mission: to give back to the animals who give so much to us.

A Journey of Resilience and Purpose

The path to Sparky & Mates began in a world of screens and code. Our founder, Eugenio, spent years navigating the high-pressure environment of the IT industry. However, as the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence began to reshape the professional landscape, Eugenio felt a calling to build something tangible, resilient, and deeply personal. He wanted to create a business that wasn’t just about data, but about health, authenticity, and family values. This shift from the digital to the natural world allowed us to focus on what truly matters: the well-being of our loved ones, both two-legged and four-legged.
The inspiration for our first product came from a place of concern. Like many dogs, Sparky struggled with reflux and gut sensitivities. We noticed his natural instinct to graze on garden grass to soothe his stomach, but we worried about the pesticides, parasites, and lack of nutrients in the local environment. We knew there had to be a better way to support his natural grazing instincts while ensuring he received the highest quality nutrition possible.
